Dial teaching is a procedure to "teach" the main unit of NexCruise about the various keys of the wireless dial. You press each button on dial sequentially, and the NexCruise main unit "learns" about the buttons and stores their values in its memory. Normally it is done at the time of first use, at our factory. It need not be done again.
However, dial teaching is a good way to verify that all buttons of NexCruise dial are working fine and received properly by the main unit of the NexCruise. You can safely do it any number of times.
NOTE: Once you start the dial teaching procedure, don't abort it in between. It may render your dial unusable.

The dial teaching video is below (jump to 7 minutes into the video to see dial teaching in action)
Basic principle
When dial teaching is started, NexCruise main unit "prompts" the user to press various dial keys in a particular sequence, and you are expected to press the prompted keys. When you press a key, NexCruise learns about it and stores it in memory, and moves on to the next prompt.
How to perform dial teaching
Preparation
1) Turn off the car, and wait for the NexCruise lights on the light bar to go off.
Start dial teaching
2) When the car and the NexCruise are off, press ECO button on the dial. With ECO button pressed, tap (press and release) the brake pedal of the car.
3) You will notice that all the lights on the light bar start flashing. Release the ECO button when this happens.
4) Light will sequentially show the following colours, and you need to press the key corresponding to the colour. When pressing the key, don't hold it down, just press and release it normally.
Sequence of colours, and the keys
5) It will begin with all lights flashing in green colour. Click the centre dial button (cruise button). All lights will turn off for a couple seconds.
6) Next, blue colour will flash. Rotate the dial clockwise. (give it a quick quarter turn). The blue colour will go off.
7) Next, purple colour will flash on the light bar. Rotate the dial anti clockwise.
8) Next, cyan colour will flash. Press the coast button when that happens.
9) Next, magenta colur will flash. Press the speedlimit button when that happens.
10) Next, orange colour will flash. Press the deep-eco button when that happens.
Now, the lights will go off, and your dial teaching is complete. You have also just confirmed that all buttons are working properly for the NexCruise.
